Labhairt na Gaeilge

(Speaking in Irish)

Is Gaelscoil í Gaelscoil de hÍde agus tá tuistí ag iarraidh go mbeidh a bpáistí líofa sa Ghaeilge agus iad óg.  ‘Sí an Ghaeilge teanga laethúil na scoile agus múintear na hábhair eile trí mhéan na Gaeilge. Táimid ag súil go mbeidh ag úsáid an méid Gaeilge is is féidir leo i gcónaí ach amháin i rith ceachtanna Béarla.  Bíonn foireann na scoile ag súil go labhródh páistí na scoile leo i nGaeilge má bhuaileann siad leo taobh amuigh den scoil.

As Gaelscoil de hÍde is a Gaelscoil it is the wish of all parents that their children become fluent in spoken Irish from an early age.  Irish is the language of instruction and communication within the school. Children are expected to speak “as Gaeilge” to the best of their ability at all times except during English classes. The staff also expect and hope that children attending the school would speak to them “as Gaeilge” when they meet them outside of the immediate school environment.
