1. Laethanta Saoire na Cásca

Beimid ag fáil laethanta saoire na Cásca ar an gCéadaoin, 16/3/’16 ag a 12 a chlog. Beimid ag filleadh ar scoil ar an Luan 4/4/’16.

We will be getting Easter holidays on Wednesday, 16/3/’16 at 12 o’clock. We will return to school on Monday 4/4/’16.

 

2. Crannchur na Cásca

Beidh Crannchur na Cásca ar siúl sa scoil ar an gCéadaoin, 16/3/’16 ag 11:30r.n. Fáilte roimh gach duine. (Ba cheart go mbeadh na ticéidí go léir ar ais roimh an Aoine seo, 11/3/’16.)

The Easter Raffle will be held in the school on Wednesday, 16/3/’16 at 11:30a.m. Everyone is welcome to attend. (All tickets should be returned to the school before this Friday, 11/3/’16.)

 

3. Lá Glas

Beidh “Lá Glas” againn ar an 16/3/’16 – lá na laethanta saoire. Beidh cead ag páistí teacht ar scoil gléasta i nglas/oráiste nó bán mar cheiliúradh do Lá ‘le Pádraig.

We will have a “Lá Glas” on 16/3/’16. Children may come to school dressed in green, orange or white to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day.

 

4. Fleadh Chontae

Go n-éirí go geal le páistí ón nGaelscoil a bheidh ag glacadh páirte i bhFleadh Chontae Roscomáin ar Luan Cásca.

Best of luck to children from the Gaelscoil who will be taking part in the County Roscommon Fleadh on Easter Monday.

 

5. Fillteáin S.A.L.F

Beidh na fillteáin S.A.L.F ag dul abhaile leis na páistí i rith na seachtaine seo. Féach orthu le do pháiste agus cuir iad ar ais roimh an Máirt, 15/3/’16.

S.A.L.F Folders will be going home with the children this week. Please look at these with your child and send them back to the school before Tuesday, 15/3/’16.

 

6. Comóradh 1916 – Brat na hÉireann

Bronnadh brat na hÉireann ar an scoil agus beimid á n-ardú ar an 15/3/’16 – Lá an Forógra. Beidh searmanas beag againn le ceol agus canadh agus páistí ag léamh a bhforógra féin.

The Irish flag was presented to the school and will be raising it on 15/3/’16 – Proclamation Day. We will have a small ceremony with music and singing and the children will read their own proclamation.

 

7. Díolachán Cáca Fairtrade

Míle buíochas do chách as ucht an dtacaíocht a thug sibh don Díolachán Cáca. D’éirigh linn €432.75 a bhailiú do Trócaire. Beidh baill den eagraíocht sin ag tabhairt cuairt orainn tar éis na Cásca chun an seic a bhailiú agus chun eolas faoi Global Warming a thabhairt do na páistí.

Thanks to all who supported our recent Fairtrade Cake Sale. We raised €432.75 for Trócaire. Thanks to Coiste na dTuistí for their help on the day. A representative from Trócaire will visit us after Easter to collect the cheque and present workshops to the children on the theme of Global Warming.

 

8. Suíomh Idirlíon

9. Imeachtaí na Scoile

• Beidh Rang 2 ag déanamh a gCéad Faoistine ar an gCéadaoin 9/3/’16 ag 6:30i.n. i Séipéal an Chroí    Naofa. 
   Rang 2 will be making their First Confession on Wednesday 9/3/’16 at 6:30p.m. in the Sacred Heart Church.

• Bíonn 10 nóiméad de dhamhsa le ceol Gaelach ar siúl ag na páistí agus na múinteoirí go léir le chéile sa      chlós gachAoine tar éis am sosa. Baineann na páistí agus na múinteoirí an-taitneamh agus fuinneamh as    seo!
  On Fridays after break, the children all have 10 minutes of dancing to Irish music together in the yard. Both the    children and the teachers get great enjoyment and energy from this!

• Beidh Naíonáin Bheaga, Rang 3 agus Rang 6 ag tosnú snámh ar an Aoine, 11ú Márta ó 12i.n. go 1i.n.    Leanfaidh sé seo ar aghaidh ar feadh 7 seachtaine.
  Naíonáin Bheaga, Rang 3 and Rang 6 will start swimming on Friday, 11th March from 12p.m. to 1p.m. This will    continue for 7 weeks.

• Comhghairdeas le Rang Naíonáin Mhóra a bhuaigh dhá ghradam ag Coirm Gael Linn dá ndráma “An   tAsarlaí ó Oz”. Bhuaigh siad ins an bhFéile áitiúil den Fhéile Drámaíochta freisin agus fuair siad   ainmniúchán chun dul go dtí an Fhéile Chonnachta. Bhí siad ar fheabhas agus bhíomar an-bhródúil    astu. Míle buíochas do na tuistí a chabhraigh linn!                                                                                             Congratulations to Naíonáin Mhóra who won two awards at Coirm Gael Linn for their drama “An tAsarlaí ó Oz”   (The Wizard of Oz). They also won in the local Féile Drámaíochta and were nominated to go forward to the Féile    Chonnachta. They were brilliant and we were very proud of them. Many thanks to all of the parents who helped    us.

• Beidh páistí páirteach i Rith 2016 ar an gCéadaoin nuair a théann sé trí Bhaile Roscomáin.
   Children will be taking part in Rith 2016 on Wednesday as it passes through Roscommon town.

• Ghlac foirne sacair na scoile páirt i gcomórtas sacar F.A.I. Níor bhuamar ach bhí ár bhfoirne go hiontach    ar an lá. Buíochas mór le Dave Dibble don traenáil go léir!                                                                             The school’s soccer teams took part in the F.A.I 5 a side competition. We didn’t win but our teams played    brilliantly on the day. Many thanks to Dave Dibble for all the training.

• Tá Rang 6 tosnaithe ar thionscadal faoi “Saol na Mara”. Bhí ceardlann acu le déanaí le Joanne Casserly ó    Uisceadán Náisiúnta na hÉireann chun cabhrú lena n-iarrachtaí.                                                                      Rang 6 have started a project on Sea Life. They recently had a workshop with Joanne Casserly from the National    Aquarium of Ireland which will help them with this.

 Ghlac Finn, Rang 6, páirt ins an gcomórtas Eason’s Spelling Bee agus d’éirigh go h-an-mhaith leis.
   Finn, Rang 6, took part in the Eason’s Spelling Bee competition and he got on very well.

• Bhuaigh Ruairí, Rang 4 agus Philip, Rang 6, an Chraobh Chontae sa chomórtas liathróid láimhe.
   Ruairí, Rang 4, and Philip, Rang 6, won the county final of the handball competition.

• Bhuaigh Síoda, Rang 6, an comórtas ranga dá haiste don chomórtas Féile Drámaíochta.
   Síoda, Rang 6, won the class competition for her essay for the Féile Drámaíochta.

• Tá Rang 6 ag dul go Scoil na gCeithre Máistrí ar an gCéadaoin agus beidh lá spraoi acu le     díospóireachtaí, damhsa agus cluichí le páistí ó Scoil na gCeithre Máistrí agus Gaelscoil Longfort.                 Rang 6 are going to Scoil na gCeithre Máistrí on Wednesday where they will take part in a day of fun, filled with     debates, dancing and games with other children from Scoil na gCeithre Máistrí and Gaelscoil Longfort.

• Buíochas le Jerh O’Connor, tuiste, atá ag obair le Rang 4 gach seachtain ar Scratch Programming.
   Thanks to Jerh O’Connor, parent, who is working with Rang 4 every week on Scratch Programming.

• Buíochas le Mark Keaveney, tuiste, a labhair le Rang 6 faoin a phost innealltóireachta.                                    Thanks to Mark Keaveney, parent, who talked to Rang 6 about his engineering job.

• Rinne Rang 6 ceardlann ar Chéad Chabhrach le grúpa ón Idirbhliain. Bhain siad idir tairbhe agus    taitneamh as!
   Rang 6 did a workshop on First Aid with a group of students from Transition Year. They enjoyed this workshop.

• Bhí grúpa ceoil ó na hardranganna taifeadtha ag Irish TV i gcóir míreanna a bheidh craolta ar an gclár    “Roscommon County Matters” i rith mí Aibreán.                                                                                               Irish TV recorded the music group with children from the older classes for segments which will be broadcast on     the Roscommon County Matters show during April.

• Comhghairdeas le Ellie Ní Mhóráin, Rang 4, a bhuaigh 3ú háit sa chomórtas scoileanna don snámh. Tá  Ellie ina ball de Chumann Snámh Naomh Comán.                                                                                                    Congratulations to Ellie Ní Mhóráin, Rang 4, who was a prizewinner in the schools’ swimming competition. Ellie is   a member of St. Coman’s Swimming Club.

 Rinne páistí ó Rang 1 suas scrúduithe Speech and Drama leis an Leinster School of Music and Drama.         Children from Rang 1 up did Speech and Drama exams with the Leinster School of Music and Drama this week.

• Bhí ceardlann corpoideachais (gleacaíocht) ag na múinteoirí le Catherine McKnight.
   The teachers did a P.E workshop (gymnastics) with Catherine McKnight.
