2. Comhghairdeas

Comhghairdeas leis an gCoiste Scoileanna Gníomhaí. Fuaireamar scéal i rith na seachtaine gur éirigh linn an brat Scoileanna Gníomhaí a fháil. Chuir an coiste: Múinteoirí Sorcha agus Amy, tuistí – Serena agus Bridget agus páistí Laoise Ní Mhathúna, Róisín Ní Mhathúna, Wayne Mac an Rí, Aaron Mac an tSaoir agus Ruadhán James go leo oibre isteach ag eagrú imeachtaí spóirt dúinn. Beimid ag ardú an bhrait ar an Lá Spóirt le cúnamh Dé.
Congrats to the Active Schools Committee. We have been informed this week that we have been awarded the Active School Flag for our efforts in achieving a physically educated and physically active school community. Thanks to our committee: Múinteoirí Sorcha and Amy, Parents – Serena and Bridget and children Laoise, rang 6, Róisín, rang 5, Wayne, rang 4, Aaron, rang 3 and Ruadhán rang 2. We hope to raise this flag on our sports day, 27/5/’16.

 

3. Curaclam Teanga na Bunscoile

Beidh an Ghaelscoil dúnta ar an 7/6/’16. Beidh lá inseirbhíse ag na múinteoirí chun tacú leo ag cur an gcuraclam nua teangacha i bhfeidhm ó Mhí Mhéan Fómhair ar aghaidh.
The Department of Education and Science are implementing a New Primary Language Curriculum in Primary Schools. We have received a circular from the Department advising us to close the school for a day during this school term for whole staff (C.P.D.) Continuing Professional Development to support teachers in implementing the new curriculum which will be introduced on a phased basis from September 2016. We have decided to take that inservice training day on Tuesday 7/6/’16. All staff will be at the school but the children will have a free day.

 

4. **Snámh – TÁBHACHTACH/IMPORTANT**

Beidh Snámh le haghaidh Naíonáin Bheaga, Rang 3 agus Rang 6 ar an Máirt seo chugainn 3/5/’16 ón 10r.n – 11r.n.
Naíonáin Bheaga, Rang 3 and Rang 6 will have swimming next Tuesday, 3/5/’16 from 10a.m. – 11a.m. Please note time change. This class is to make up for the class missed due to Easter Holidays.

 

5. Macléinn Múinteoireachta

Bhí Emma McStay ag déanamh a cleachtadh múinteoireachta linn le mí anuas. Bhí sí i rang 2/3. Beidh Emma cáilithe mar mhúinteoir i mhí Mheithimh agus guímid gach rath uirthi ina saol mhúinteoireachta.
Emma McStay a fourth year teaching student in St Patrick’s College of Education, Dublin has been doing her teaching practice with us over the past few weeks. Emma has been teaching in Rang 2/ 3. We thank her for her work in the Gaelscoil and we wish her well in her future teaching career.

 

6. Féile Gael Linn

Comhghairdeas le rang 6. Beidh siad ag glacadh páirte ins an bhFéile Chonnachta Peile Gael Linn.
Congrats to rang 6. They took part in the qualifying rounds for a place in Féile Connachta of the Féile Peile Chonnachta. They were playing against Scoil Uí Raifteirí, Caisleán an Bharraigh, Scoil Iognáid, Gaillimh agus Gaelscoil na Cruaiche, Cathair na Mart. At the end of the day they were victorious and they will now have an overnight trip to Leitir Móir at the end of May for the finals. There will be other activities including a ceili, table quiz and concert organized for the children over the 2 days and the children are looking forward to this trip.

 

7. Féile Ceoil

Comhghairdeas leis na páistí i rang 1/ 2 agus 4/5 agus na damhsóirí ar an sean-nós a ghlac páirt ins an bhFéile Ceoil in Áth Luain le déanaí. Congrats to the children in rang 1/ 2 and 4/ 5 and the sean-nós dancers that took part in the Féile Ceoil in Athlone recently. We were very proud of their performances on stage.

 

8. Join Our Boys

Tá cead ag na páistí éadaí oráiste a chaitheamh amárach ar son Join Our Boys.
Children will be allowed to wear orange tomorrow to support the Join Our Boys campaign. They may also bring in a euro or two should they wish.
