Comhghairdeas leis na páistí ó Naíonáin Bheaga go Rang 6 nár chaill lá ar bith i rith na bliana. Maith sibh!

Teachtaireacht ón bPríomhoide

Posted 22/6/2016

Twenty six new Junior Infants joined the Gaelscoil along with one girl in Naíonáin Mhóra agus two girls in Rang 1. We were delighted to extend a 'Céad Míle Fáilte' to all our newcomers. Múinteoir Ruth returned from her career break to teach Rang 4/5. Stephanie Helbert continued as school secretary.

Our Board of Management changed in November 2015. We thank our outgoing BOM (outgoing members - Martina Ní Dhonalláin agus Sharon Caomhánach) and welcome our new Board of Management of Úna Ní Chuinn (Chairperson), Seán Ó Mathúna (Treasurer), Tom Ó Fearghail, Fiona Ní Chuinn, Deirdre Ní Cheallaigh, Caitlín de Brún, Éanna de Róiste agus Orla Ní Chuinneagáin (secretary).

Alongside our dedicated teachers our pastoral team of An Canónach Peadar Ó Láimhín and Bridgeen Regan looked after the spiritual needs of our pupils. An tAthair Peadar was a welcome visitor on a weekly basis to our classes giving particular support to the classes receiving the sacraments. It was a great honour for us that Bishop Kevin Doran visited all classes in the school this year as part of his parish visit. Rang 6 received the Sacrament of Confirmation in the Sacred Heart Church on April 16th while Rang 2 received the Sacrament of Reconciliation and Holy Communion in the Sacred Heart Church. Our senior choir sang beautifully for the First Holy Communion Mass. We participated in Catholic Schools' Week, the National Day of Prayer and Youthfest. Charity is an important part of our school. This year we raised money for the Join Our Boys trust, The Hope Foundation, St. Vincent de Paul and Trócaire.

Teachtaireacht ó Chathaoirleach an Bhoird Bhainistíochta

Posted 20/6/2016

A Thuistí,

Tá deireadh na bliana ag druidim linn agus táimid ag fágáil sláin le grúpa eile buachaillí agus cailíní anseo i nGaelscoil de hÍde. Guímid gach rath orthu sa mheánscoil.

Mar chathaoirleach den Bhord Bhainistíochta ba mhaith liom mo bhuíochas a ghabháil le baill an Bhoird - Seán Ó Mathúna, Tom Ó Fearghail, Fiona Ní Chuinn, Deirdre Ní Cheallaigh, Caitlín de Brún, Orla Ní Chuinneagáin agus Éanna de Róiste. Bhuaileamar le chéile go minic i rith na bliana agus thug na daoine seo idir threoir agus comhairle dúinn. Ba mhaith liom freisin an obair dian atá déanta ag Coiste na dTuistí faoi stiúir Lynda Nic Piarais, Adrienne de Búrca agus Méadhbh Nic Néill a aithint.

Míle buíochas freisin d'Orla Ní Chuinneagáin don obair dícheallach a dhéanann sí gach bliain agus buíochas freisin don fhoireann teagaisc agus tacaíochta - Laoise, Éanna, Amy, Ruth, Córa, Sorcha, Ríona, Cáit, Stephanie, Aveen agus Kathleen. Go raibh maith agaibh as ucht cabhrú lenár bpáistí i rith na bliana agus tá siad réidh anois chun bogadh ar aghaidh go dtí an chéad chéim eile ina t-aistear foghlama.

D'oibrigh an Bord Bainistíochta, Coiste na dTuistí, foireann na scoile agus tuistí le chéile agus is cúis bhróid é sin dúinn sa Ghaelscoil. Ní neart go cur le chéile. Táim ag súil go mór leis an gcéad scoilbhliain eile agus a bheith ag obair libh go léir arís.

Is mise, le meas,

Úna Ní Chuinn, Cathaoirleach an Bhoird Bhainistíochta

Rith 2016

Posted 9/3/2016

Ghlacamar páirt i Rith 2016 inniu agus é ar an mbealach trí Ros Comáin. Is féile náisiúnta nua d’Éirinn é Rith 2016 atá ar siúl go dtí an 14ú Márta mar cheann de phríomhimeachtaí Sheachtain na Gaeilge. Tá cúrsa 700km leagtha amach chun ollrith sealaíochta a dhéanamh, ag rith ó mhaidin go hoíche agus ritheamar ceann amháin de na ciliméadar sin inniu. D'iompraíomar baitín sealaíochta lámh-dhearaithe speisialta le teachtaireacht folaithe istigh ann le linn ár rith. Léifear amach an teachtaireacht tacaíochta don Ghaeilge seo ag críoch an rith i mBaile Átha Cliath.

We took part in Rith 2016 today as it was on its way through Roscommon. Rith 2016 is a national festival that is taking place until 14th March as one of the main events of Seachtain na Gaeilge. A 700km course has been laid out for a massive relay-race run, running from morning to night. During our run we carried a special hand-carved baton with a special message hidden inside it. This message of support for the Irish language will be read out at the end of the run in Dublin.

Irish TV - Roscommon County Matters

Irish TV came to the school today. They did some recording for Roscommon County Matters. The music group played a couple of tunes for them. We look forward to seeing them on the show at the end of April. (Programme is broadcast on Mondays at 6:30p.m on Sky 191)
