Is Scoil Glas í Gaelscoil de hÍde. I láthair na huaire, táimid ag obair ar an 7ú mbratach faoin téama Global Citizenship. Gach aon bhliain, roghnaítear Coiste Glas le páiste ó gach rang ó Rang 1 go Rang 6 agus bíonn beirt tuiste ar an gCoiste freisin. Bíonn cruinniú ag an gCoiste uair sa mhí.

Gaelscoil de hÍde is a Green School. We are currently working toward our 7th Green Flag on the theme of Global Citizenship. Every year, a Green Schools committee is assembled with one child from each class from Rang 1 to Rang 6 along with two parents. The committee meets once a month.

Tá Scoileanna Ghlasa fite fuaite trí shaol na scoile anseo i nGaelscoile de hÍde, rud a chabhróidh leis na páistí bheith ina saoránaigh iontacha amach anseo. Tá go leor d’ár n-iar scoláirí páirteach i Scoileanna Ghlasa sa mheán scoil agus tá fáilte roimh thuistí bheith páirteach linn san obair seo i gcónaí.

Being a Green School is an integral part of life in Gaelscoil de hÍde, something which will most certainly help the children on their way to becoming excellent citizens. Many of our past pupils take part in Green Schools when they reach secondary school.

Tá fáilte i gcónaí roimh thuistí atá ag iarraidh cabhrú linn lenár gcéad bhratach eile a fháil.

Parents are always welcome to join us in our work toward our next flag.

Bhailíomar 125kg de chadhnraí don fheachtas atá eagraithe ag WEEE Ireland agus Lauralynn Foundation. Táimid fós ag bailiú, má tá sean-chadhnraí agaibh sa bhaile bheimis lán-sásta iad a thógáil nó féach ar an suíomh thíos le haghaidh níos mó eolais ar athchúrsáil chadhnraí.

We collected 125kg of used batteries for the campaign run by WEEE Ireland and The LauraLynn Foundation. We are still collecting so if you have used batteries at home we would be happy to take them. Alternatively, you can look at the website below for more information on the recycling of batteries.

Tháinig an tAire Denis Naughten ar chuairt chuig na scoile le déanaí. Labhair sé linn faoi chaomhnú fuinnimh, téamh domhanda, fuinneamh in-athnuaite agus neart eile. D'fhreagair sé ár gceisteanna go léir agus ag deireadh na cainte rinne Rang 4 a rap fuinnimh. Bhí maidin thar a bheith speisiúil againn.

Minister Denis Naughten visited the school recently. He talked to us about energy conservation, global warming, renewable energy and much more. He answered all of our questions. At the end of the talk, Rang 4 performed their energy rap as Gaeilge.
